Guangdong AIB Polytechnic College, owned by GuangdongProvince, is a public full-time higher education institution. It implements the education of agriculture, industry and business, but focuses on business management. It fosters the talents with higher skills and practical ability. The college is An Advanced Unit in the Field of Higher Vocational Education, A Civilized Unit of Guangdong Province. And it was appraised as An Excellent Institution through the evaluation of talents-developing work of higher institutions in 2005.

GuangdongAIBPolytechnicCollege has three campuses. The area of the campuses is 1208mu. The size of teaching and research places and dormitory is 280,000 square meters. The library has a collection of 840,000 books. The number of laboratories and training room is more than 70 and the training bases outside is over 100. The construction of campus network provides the base for the modernization of teaching means and realization of campus information.

GuangdongAIBPolytechnicCollege possesses a group of more than 500 qualified teachers, 25% of them having high professional title and 71% having two professional fields. The young teachers under 40 obtaining doctor’s or master’s degree is 39.5% of the teachers.

There are the Department of Management，Department of Finance and Economy，Department of Politics and Economy，Department of Computer Science, Department of Electronics and Engineering, BTEC Education Center,Department of Further Education in Guangdong Polytechnic college. The full-time student is 10,629 in 2005 and so GuangdongAIBPolytechnicCollege is one of the four polytechnic colleges which have the enrollment over 10,000. The students come from Guangdong, Yunnan, Sichuan, Hainan, Heilongjiang, Shandong, Hebei, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangxi and etc. GD AIB has been identified by the Ministry of Agriculture as the training centre in South China in training senior administrative personnel for all agricultural industries in China. Annually, there are more than 2,000 learners from more than 20 provinces and autonomous regions such as Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei, Sichuan, Shanghai, Xinjiang trained here in the centre. Since its founding 22 years ago, the college has nurtured more than30,000 students, many of which have become the administrator of higher and mid level or cadreman for large and middle-sized corporation and local government departments.

GuangdongAIBPolytechnicCollege attaches much importance to full employment of the graduates and has set up a students’ employment centre. The centre holds the supply and demand interview for the graduates and conducts a serious of recommendation activities. Meanwhile, the centre encourages students to carve out by themselves and obtain further education. The job placement has been more than 98% in the past three years.

GuangdongAIBPolytechnicCollege has set up a Scientific Research Office, a Vocational Education Research Institute, Technology for Computer Application Institute and Communication Technology Institute. It adheres to the running-school guideline of doing the inter work well, administrating strictly and winning by the quality. It strives to establishment of the model majors and develops the well-known teachers and the elaborated courses. “Journal of Guangdong AIB Polytechnic College” edited by GD AIB is published at home and abroad which obtains the prize of “Excellent College Journal” for the National Polytechnic College for the First Time and “Social Science College Journal of Quality Progress” for the Social Science Journal of National Higher Institution for the Second Time. A number of textbooks edited or compiled by the teachers and published formally are extensively put to use in teaching.

GuangdongAIBPolytechnicCollege cooperates with EDEXCEL in Britain to conduct educational project “BTEC” which is an experimental project of Britain vocational qualification in Guangdong polytechnic colleges. It recruits students throughout GuangdongProvince in Autumn in 2004. Experts from EDEXCEL Foundation affirm that it is the best model institute in China. The cooperation between China and F+U in Germany provides students with opportunities to practicein Germany. The college has sent teachers and students trained there six times in the past three years. Moreover, it collaborate to institutes in Britain, Canada, Malaysia, Hongkong and so on.

GuangdongAIBPolytechnicCollege attaches importance to quality education and develops students initiative thinking and practicalability.It improves students to grow in harmony. College Academic Festival, Art Festival, Physical Education Festival attract large number of students. Many journals are created for students such as“Yuxiu ”“lvchao ”“Jingjiren ” “Qimingxing” “Huoniao” “Tianpin” and etc.. There are college English salon, Marketing Association, Computer Association, Wireless Association E-Business Association, Green Food Extending Association, Writing and Printing Association, Photography Association, Dance Association and other kinds of chess and ball’s association. All these provide students a base to show their characters. The students has winned lots of medals in the competitions on Math Model Technology, Science and Technology making and so on.
